It's fanart this time. Akira is an OC who belongs to :iconmudkipblader:

I fell in love with her story/anime in the making called Eternal Rain - 悠久の雨. After seeing her pictures of Akira and reading up on his background, I really wanted to paint him. My intention was to do a scene from her story or a group pic of all her characters, buuut…it seems I need more experience before I’m able to handle something that complex. Some other time maybe.

I'll spare you a lot of the ranting and just tell you I had a really hard time. Also, I messed up with his clothes. I detest painting clothes. If it wasn't for the fact clothes keep us warm and decent, I would have painted him naked. Doing the hair was fun though; I like doing hair (and toying around with skin colours)

Just to be sure; he does NOT belong to me! His character and his design belong to *Mudkipblader (except for his crappy looking clothes; that’s unfortunately completely my own doing)

Mudkipblader, I hope you'll like it. I know I messed up here and there. And...I may not have captured him right, but I hope you like him anyway. I did my best :)

Medium: Corel Painter Essentials 2 + Photoshop CS2 (used to change colour hues and the dodge tool for the eye, earrings and parts of the cloth)

but this looks amazing, your painting skills are so apparent in this picture
my favorite part has to be the ear, I love how the colors mix D: love how you did his face in general.
one thing that bugs me a LITTLE bit, is his collar looks too flat, maybe add a little more shading underneath where the collar is, even just a little bit of dark lining.

absolutely gorgeous! this is so well done! i love how his blue eye pops with color and his face is very nicely painted. i'm so impressed! you can do beasties and people too. love the detail of the pink flowers and his earrings. beautiful work!

As always, you leave me speechless with your work, Vyrilien. I really wished that I had some shred of artistic ability, but alas, no one can be master of all (well, I should say hardly anyone--my depictions run through imagery and sensory words, and not paintings).

All in all, exceptional work.
