Hosted by: *Contraltissimo Prompt: Just Me And My Dragon.
The first prize is this amazing thing and the deadline ends somewhere in September. So plenty of time to join in! All media accepted and you can even submit old art for the contest. What are you waiting for?
I'm not good at painting humans, so I devised a dastardly way to get around it, heehee. But no, this thing just popped into my mind and I just went for it. Sparrow Jim and his scaly, firebreathing lizard friend, Vastris, scourges of the neighborhood. Beware, cats! This bird has a draconic bodyguard and he's not afraid to use it!
I've never painted such a big thing in so little time. It was a very fun one and oh my god, I might actually not be moaning about how much I could've improved on it this time and actually be very happy with this one! Doesn't mean I'm not open to critiques or suggestions. I'm always open to those

Very well executed anatomy, pose and expression. What's bearing the dragon's weight? The fence? Or is he/she standing on the ground and leaning on the fence?
That's...a very good question. When I painted this I imagined the dragon sort of half leaning on it with its back legs on the ground, but your question made me realize that even that would be kind of unrealistic. ...Just assume the fence is made out of solid steel or something XD I feel quite derp now, haha. But thank you for the compliments!
I have to say that i don't really get the subject but I still found this scene amazing because I thing cats and dragons are similar and so I love to see them together- especially so detaild and in impressive perspective!
